Process
1. Math Word Puzzle
Review math terminology used in computation of addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division. Print and complete the math puzzle.
2. Animated Math Vocabulary
a.Your group will use the animated math glossary to review the words
used in the math puzzle. Find the words from the math puzzle in the
math glossary.Vocabulary
b.Alphabetize the words
3. Solve Equations
a. Groups will work cooperatively to solve the equations at this site.
Click on the site, and print a copy. Equations
b. Pattern blocks may be used to help solve the problems. Recommended.
c. Write the equations on index cards to categorize/sort. What
attributes can you use to group the equations? Hint : +, -, x, /
4. Create a Table/Chart
a. Use the information from the index cards to create a table/chart
(spreadsheet or wordprocessing). The operations (+,-,x,/) should be
at the top going across in a row. The problems should be underneath
their corresponding operation going down in a column.
5. Digitally Illustrate 2 Equations
a. Illustrate 2 of the equations from your table or chart using the
paint application.
6. Compare/Contrast (addition-subtraction, multiplication-division)
a. Questions to consider when writing your paper.
What are you writing about?
What role does addition and subtraction play in an equation?
How are they alike/different?
Why do we need them?
What role does multiplication and division play in an equation?
How are they alike/different?
What are (+, -, x, /) called?
Give examples.
b. Once your story has been edited type it using wordprocessing on the
computer.
7. Play the Math Games
a. Play these games to review your addition, subtraction, multiplication,
and division skills.

a. Evaluate the math game sites and give your opinion(s).
